Stanza & Story: A Literary Platform
Founded by Dr. Teyuna Darris, Stanza & Story is a digital publishing and literary platform dedicated to the preservation of literacy and culture. What began as a love for verse has evolved into a broader mission: to provide families and educators with the stories they need to inspire the next generation.
The mission is to curate literature that builds bridges between the past and the present, ensuring that the “oral tradition” is preserved in written form. As a Communication Scholar, Dr. Darris utilizes this platform to bridge the gap between academic research and cultural documentation.
Current Projects
Cadence & Verge: A cultural journalism initiative documenting the stories of St. Louis cultural elements and what they say about the people of STL—including the “Cornbread Chronicles” and “Double Dutch Memoirs”—as well as food truck owners and grassroots entrepreneurs in the St. Louis and DMV regions.
Curated Literature: Selecting classic and contemporary works that reflect diverse experiences.
The Collection: A forthcoming line of stationery and greeting cards celebrating heritage and designed to encourage written communication within families.
